Dream Car: Porsche 911S

When I would drive between Skidmore and home, I would drive past this lovely red barn in Vergennes, VT.  Out in front of this barn there would be some exceedingly fine cars: Ferraris, Porsches, and more. It’s a strange sight in Vermont. I eventually stopped once, chatted with some of the people outside and learned that this barn is the home of Restoration and Performance Motors.

I remembered RPM this morning and I checked their current inventory.  There I found my dream car in two different versions. RPM has two beautifully restored and maintained 911S: a beautiful red 1967 model and a sleek silver 1970 European spec model.

These cars are wonderful. I’ve long loved the smooth, sculptural lines of the 911 and the performance and racing pedigree of the 911S makes it that much better. Someday I hope to own a 911S of my own, but if you have $140,000 you can take either of these home.
